Does the wind move me or do I move the wind?

In studio: Start by exploring the concept: does the wind move me or do I move the wind?  Imagine the air around you as a solid substance – that you can move or be moved by.

Then identify a swath of body – for instance the skin between the wrist and the inner elbow.  Let the part of your body be the contact.  Try an internal part of the body, for instance – the hollow space of your rib cage.  Experiment.

Select three body sites.

Duets: One person does their experimenting, the other person is a “shadow” following the exploration. Two minutes, switch.

Move it to partner with outdoor world.  Either from an indoor space, looking out; or outdoors.  Observe. Watch to see how the wind moves something. “Shadow” that movement the same way you shadowed with your partner.
